ONCE UPON A TIME, I WAS THAT SHOWGIRL - Episode 12
From the last episode... Episode 11: Coming towards the end of 2002... Dugaan...
So 2002 apparently ended like - sedeh sikit lah. Dah la kalah in the last 2 pageants/ contest- lepas tu, the issue about MU2002 tu pulak - haiyoh! Mek pilu! Mek sedeh! Mek sentap!!! Perjalanan menuju ke 2003 was like - dangg! Towards the end of 2002, makin ramai yang saw me as a competition- walhal, ade antara mereka were like, friends, mostly strangers - so its like, sedeh lah. Kite nak bertanding, for fun dengan kengkawan - tapi kengkawan feel I'm not a competition - more like a threat. Yeahhhhhhh that's the word - mek ala ala seperti satu ugutan utk diaorang. So dari sentap dan kalah (kalau kalah la) dengan mek - baik jgn kasik Laurielle bertanding... how sad can that get???
Episode 12: 2003, here I come!!!
The year 2003 was like a year yang mek bebetul jadi Miss Tak Serik2... asalkan ade contest, nah!!! That's it! Masuk jer! And the year also sees me as a showgirl under the group of Glitters.Com. I'll come back to that shortly...
Now, let me recall back - how many contests erk yang mek competed in 2003 alone? Hurmmm.... (sambil bukak port folio - maaaaaati la mek!) Ahhh yes - total of seven contests mek masuk throught the whole year of 2003... gile kan? WAIT until we come to 2004 punye entries... SIAP!

1.Miss Kebaya Blue Bar 2003
Placing: 1st Runner-up
Subsidiary titles: Nil
The first contest of the year, dah macam kesial dapat 1st runner-up (AGAIN!). Tapi yang menang tu pon, VERY DER CANTIK! Au natural sangat persis si Halia tu! Memang lawa. So tak per lah. Mek mampu terima kenyataan itu time! Ehehehe...

2.Miss Uptown 2003 (Miss New York)
Placing: 1st Runner-up
Subsidiary titles: Best Catwalk, Best Legs, Best Make Up
It was just COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER Miss Kebaya Blue Bar 2003 that I ended up competing in this pageant and got 1st Runner-up... (YERRR AGAIN!!!!! ). Tapi this contest timbulkan few isu2 kontroversi. (No no no, my crying after the pageant wasn't the issue lah! DUH!) The issue was the contest was somewhat, screwed up. Big time. Like, I was like on top of the list of winning - dah grabbed three subsidiary titles - tapi, ended up, a non-favo and not-in-th-list yang alih2 tiba2 menang. HOW? Memang org question kan sangat - tapi, the biggest issue was, THE NEWLY CROWNED (tak der lah NEW sangat by that time, dah couple of months dah pon) MISS UNIVERSE 2002 (remember? The contest yang mek tak dibenarkan masuk tu...) - SHE also competed in the pageant - and yeappie! Tak dapat top 10 - memang was like, the biggest shock of the pageant u ols! Kalau mek, mek melu sundel! And Miss Kebaya Blue Bar 2003 also placed 4th Runner-up. Eheheh - how!? Tak per lah - mek ala ala memang DEMAM malam tu pon - tapi I didn't use that as an excuse to cover why I kalah... "Terima jer lah noq... dah nasib..." - most of my friends told me. And that night was somewhat memorable jugak sebab malam tu lah di mana 4 KJ Girls yang sebenarnye tgh bertegang urat dengan mek, datang, and gave their support and we got back together. That was the best AWARD/ GIFT I got that night - friendship....

3.Miss Universe Diva 2003 (Miss Mexico)
Placing: 1st Runner-up
Subsidiary titles: Best Evening Dress, 2nd Runner-up Best National Costume
AHHH YES! This pageant - LAGI banyak isunye u ols!!! This pageant was meant for Transsexuals ONLY and yet ade 2 orang transgenders masuk, Miss Hawaii (yes, its that same Miss Universe Transgender 2002 yang masuk Miss Uptown tak dapat top ten tu lah) and me, Miss Mexico - tu isu pertamal; dua transgenders masuk compete. Isu keduanye, mek got 1st Runner-up (YERRR LAHHH! AGAIN! - mandi bunga mek lepas tu!) - Ade sumbe yang menyatakan sesuatuh pada mek lepas pageant tu...
"Nyeh... mek dgr sesuatuh tadik waktu nak ke bilik ko sundel!!!"
"Apenye???" I was like - nak jer couldn't be bothered - tapi knowing ME? Tetap nak tahu...
So this friend of mine cakap on the way up to my hotel room lepas the pageant, ade this one person went up to the organizers' face dan cakap terus ginni...
"Eh Sharm, ko nih kan, tak malu ke nyeh? Cemarkan event ko?"
"Ape kau cakapkan nih?"
"Contest ko nih utk org2 cam kite, yang dah woman - perlu ke kasik gayboys drags tu masuk? Buat sangkak majlis lah - dah la dapat 1st runner-up pulak tu!!!"
"Lah - dah rezeki dia. Biar lah. Mak tak sekat sape2 nak masuk - diaorang bayar duit registrations, diaorang ikut cakap aku, aku dah puas hati. Kalah menang diaorang bukan di tangan mak. Dan menangnye dia 1st runner-up ke ape ke malam nih - bukan mek yang tentukan..."
That's why many ppl sukakan kat Sharm when she organizes pageants - very, transparent! Mek suke! Tapi tatkala itu, nama mek macam rojak buah - mixed, here and there. Yang baik2 org cakap lah macam,...
"Haiyoh!!! Mak ayam menang Miss Universe, anak ayam dapat 1st Runner-up. Curlast!!!"
"Memang bangga aku tgk si Laurielle malam tu dapat 1st runner-up, menaikkan martabat geng2 transgenders dan gays.. bagus! It shows how even kite yang tak sepurfect transsexuals pon leh dapat placing. Cayaaalah!"
Namun begitu - ehem ehem - TETAPPP ade yang KURENG menyedapkan telinga....
"PERLU ke si L tu masuk compete dengan ponen berteteks u ols? Dia tak sedar diri lagi ke? Keji lah.."
"Ngadenye dia lepas nih mek confirm! Yer lah, sebab dia dah menang 1st runner-up..."
"Ada hati nak kalahkan Mak Ayam sendiri tu. Mattti lah dia kalau dia kalahkan Shasha Penang tu..."
"Mek rase mesti bias la contest tu. Musti dia menang 1st runner-up tu sebab sorakkan kuat - so judges terpengaruhs lah kot..."
"Tak pon, mek rase - sebab dia baik dengan Kak Sharm u ols. Bodek kipas sangat si Laurielle tu dengan Kak Sharm..."
Mek pilu sangat after that contest - although bercampur kegumbiraan namun, am only human, kan? Tetap mek terasa....

HAIYOH! GINGER MUSTI SUKA YANG NIH! KEJIS! This! Has got to be the worst contest ever for me dalam sejarah Transgender. The expectations were high, both, from me and from friends and crowd. WHY? Yer lah - dangg I just won Miss Universe DIVA* 2003 1st Runner-up, managed to kalahkan Pasha, Sherryn and Fifi - so apparently - like, this Miss Universe 2003 transgender nih, shouldn't be a problem la kan, since, kalau ngan transsexuals pon leh dapat 1st runner-up, APATAH LAGI transgenders. YEAP, tu lah, expected too much, berangan plus berlagak lelebih, nahhhhh!!! Bukan menang pong! 1st RUNNER-up? OWHHH TIDAK - MEROSOTTT ke 2nd Runner-up ok!!!!! Memang cam sialll malam tu! SEBABNYE - mek BENTAT (GEMUK) yang maha sangat DAN YER, mek spoiled it all during q/a... AZABBB!!!!! SEHSUWAIII PADAN NGAN MUKA MEK KALAH PON. Tapi G yang menang, HOW!?!?!?!? Heheheheh - dah nak masuk 2 years dah - we still fight laserina occasionally regarding this matter... kan lahanat? (di tujukan kepada Ginger... heheh maaati la kau Miss ParagayleeZ... ooppsss)

Yang nih also mek bangga sebab I sort of like improved a lot since last years Desert Queen 2002; remember, last year, me only in the top 20 semifinalist. This year, kire, ok lah jugak, kan? EHEHEHEH... by that time, mek yang dah well-exposed to shows, under Glitters.Com, ala ala dah confidensi siket lah compared to the year before. Ehehehe...

The 23-year-old delegate from Toronto was crowned at the conclusion of the 54th Annual broadcast on NBC LIVE from Bangkok, Thailand. Natalie Glebova is a model and motivational speaker to grade school and high school students.
Miss Universe 2005 was chosen by an international judging panel which included: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley; Executive Producer of NBC hit shows including "Friends" and "Joey" Kevin Bright; "Days of Our Lives" star, Bryan Dattilo; Vice President, Global Cosmetics and Marketing, Procter & Gamble, Anne Martin; Hair Stylist to the stars, Louis Licari; World-Renowned Chef and former Bangkok resident, Jean Georges Vongerichten; Danish Model Heidi Albertsen; Supermodel Cassie Lewis; Telemundo Latin Superstar, Mario Cimarro; Model and Former Miss Ukraine Universe, Alexandra Nikolayenko; Executive Vice President, Director, Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd, Chutinant "Nidnoi" Bhirombhakdi and Miss Universe 1988 from Thailand, Porntip "Bui" Nakhirunkanok Simon. DURING LIVE NBC TELECAST on May 30th
Bangkok, Thailand, May 30, 2005 -This evening, during one of the year's most exciting live television events, a star-studded panel of judges chose Natalie Glebova, Miss Canada, as MISS UNIVERSE 2005.
The 23-year-old delegate from Toronto was crowned at the conclusion of the 54th Annual broadcast on NBC LIVE from Bangkok, Thailand. Natalie Glebova is a model and motivational speaker to grade school and high school students.
Miss Universe 2005 was chosen by an international judging panel which included: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley; Executive Producer of NBC hit shows including "Friends" and "Joey" Kevin Bright; "Days of Our Lives" star, Bryan Dattilo; Vice President, Global Cosmetics and Marketing, Procter & Gamble, Anne Martin; Hair Stylist to the stars, Louis Licari; World-Renowned Chef and former Bangkok resident, Jean Georges Vongerichten; Danish Model Heidi Albertsen; Supermodel Cassie Lewis; Telemundo Latin Superstar, Mario Cimarro; Model and Former Miss Ukraine Universe, Alexandra Nikolayenko; Executive Vice President, Director, Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd, Chutinant "Nidnoi" Bhirombhakdi and Miss Universe 1988 from Thailand, Porntip "Bui" Nakhirunkanok Simon. Sempena Bulan May - A tribute to Teachers
Dearest all,
Kejisnye mek! Nak tunggu sampai habis bulan MAY baru terhegeh2 nak buat entry ini. Isk isk isk - but you know what they say, kan? BETTER LATE DARI NAN ADO!!! Ehehehehe...
Entry kali ini, mek berikan title...
Jasa2miew Kan Ku Kenang Wahai Cikgus Cikgis Kiews... Dalam bahasa abnormalnya, "Jasa2mu Kan Ku Kenang Wahai Cikgu2ku..."
To most of us, our dearest cikgus cikgis, semuanya bagaikan lilin yang membakari (eh!?!?! - salah!) I meant to say, they are like candles that burns its flame to brighten up our days and lives. Agree tak? I mean - of course, at home, our parents lah yang menjadi sumber inspirasi, pendorong, pembimbing, penyelamat tatkala kite dalam kesusahan. But di sekolah, mana mau carik itiew parents? (this applies to those yang kat boarding school, nah...) - So at times of depression or sadness kat skool, mana lagi we seek help, pendapat al nasihats, not to mention the guidance and galakan rohani dan jasmani, kalau bukan dari our dearly beloved teachers??? So tidak terlalu melampau if I were to say, there (kat boarding school tu la), teachers are like our parents too. Tanpa diaorang, berkorban apa saje demi kite nih, I doubt kite akan be where we are now, kan? Pasal bab mengajar dan tahan kerenah 1001 macam perangai students tu, jgn cerita la kan. Itu dah memang tanggungjawab diaorang. Ini nih yang extra work loads that they have to perform; jadi our guadian and angels nih. Ha, bukan senang nak jaga students in boarding schools.
So anyways, me feel that kite tidak perlu lah kan nak mempersoalkan lagi kredibiliti mereka as a tenaga pengajar, at the same time jadi our second parents. What we should realize adalah fakta2 sepertimana berikut:
Ok - now, coming back to the main issue of this entry - lets talk about me (maaati la mek!). Eh!! No no, syillaps lagiks. What I meant was, lets lah u ols read pasal this story, true story, about jasa baik ONE of MY many cikgu2s yang I think I will never forget. It MIGHT not be interesting to some, but it definitely means the world for me. (noticed tak I used, "MIGHT NOT" - so kalau tak interesting tu, paham2 aje lah)... Tujuan mek is to pay respect to my ex cikgu nih...
Too bad, dia dah Arwah dah, died of cardiac arrest (hard attack kots in bahasa biasa). He died when I was in Form 3 kots, terkejut jugak dgr. CD, hang tau kan Cikgu Johari mana I'm talking about tu? Yang duduk kat Tmn Mutiara tu, BS pon tahu mek rase. - sama2 lets, kite sedekahkan surah Al- Fatihah untuk Arwah... (For non-Malays, lets, be silent for 5 minutes, in respect of my late cikgu Johari...)...
*Sambil kesat air mata dan hembus hidung!!!* - So... itu la dia. I mean, citer, jasa, seorang insan bernama cikgu (yang can do dan yang dah jadi Arwah) - tidak perlu dipersoalkan lagi, tidak perlu dipertimbangkan lagi. Murni sungguh pekerti mereka yang bergelar guru, dalam goin' through what ppl say 1001 kerenah pelajars. Its like cabin crew lah kan (eh? Tetiber pulak)...I mean, I've had so many teacher in my life (so do you peeps) tapi yang ini nih, Arwah 's kes nih, it's like, something, yang special lah kirenye dan I will never lupakan sebab, for one thing, dia dah meninggal (when MOST of my other teachers semuenya masih hidup walaupun some mek tak tahu lokasi mereka - and when he's no longer around, I don't get to see him like I see most of my other teachers and talk to them and let them know how am I doin' now. Get the pic tak? *mata dah berair lagik*), secondly, sebab of that kes kat atas tu and the role he played during that historical moments (why historical? Yer lah - history lah dalam hidup mek! Pembedahan secara terjaga pertama dan terakhir mek!)... and finally - sebab..., if you personally kenal him, you would agree that he was one fine very 99.99% sempurna kindda guy... which made him very special among other students and teachers as well... He will be forever remembered...
So anyways, terima lah, all cikgus cikgis around the nation yang baca entry nih... and especially utk Arwah...

- Tanpa cikgus and cikgis - siape lah kita... a candle without a flame. Kalau ade flame pon, it'll be somewhat like, a black flame - very the gelap gulita perjalanan hidup kita
- It is not easy being a tenaga pengajar with extra heavy duty responsibilities
- We crave respect from our teachers - but sometimes, perasan tak kite sendiri tak respect diaorag dulu? I mean, pangkat wise - kita as students memang kena respect teachers - tapi at the same time, kalau kita lihat dari segi umur piula? Memang la kite respect them as someone somewhat older

- It was in 1986, I was in Standard 1, mek jatuh dan luka parah during recess. Imagine, ade these two pathetic students, both sama standard 1 ngan mek. Ngade2 tau diaorang. Diaorang dua orang main kejar kejar achilutchak! Dan keadaannye 3 4 minit sebelum tragisnya kes tu berlaku was this - si A (a boy) dok sebok mengejar2 si B (a girl). And yes, guess guess dimana mek time itiew? YOOO LAH! - di TGH2 diaorang. Si A belakang mek, dan si B tgh mengelak dari A kejar tangkap dia, telah duduk depan mek. Ala ala mek nih ape, PENGHADANG? Or Jaring.net pemisahs ke? Ha, cam tu la lebih kurang. At that time I remembed I was like, "Ape nih? Rimas lah I! Get away from me, urgh!!!" (OK, THAT was DQ). So anyways, si A nih nak get to this B, sudah tolak lah mek ke tepi so that he get his dream girl tu (which apparently now I think, I THINK la, the guy turned solid macho gay, and the girl, well - lets just say she became a lesbian! So much for CHILDHOOD LOVE! Chit!). Tolak pi tolak mai, haiyak! Mek yang jadik mangsa u ols! Mek jatuhs u ols! Jatuh, my knees kena itu batu tanda JKR!!! Astaga! Apa lagik, terbelah la lutut mek bagaikan retaknye muka tatkala bedak sejuk yang dah sejuk keras kat muka tu! Darah piula, bercucuran bagaikan air terjun (Haiyoh! kejis lah perumpamaan mek!) - mek waktu itiew, haiyoh! All I could think of was - O-MY-GOD!!! Cam ne nak menang/ maintain BEST LEGS NIH!!?!?!?!???! LOL! Seriously - waktu, mek hanye thought of my mom, dah feeling nak pengsan, (due to kehilangan blood yang very DER) dan pasal nangis, JANGAN DI TANYA! Bagaikan bergegar itiew sekolah!!! Dan tatkala itiew lah, Cikgu Johari (Allahyarham dah pon) yang can do tu datang to the resque. He was around that area when that tragyc magyc incident occured dan ditakdirkan dia lah penyelamat hidup mek! Di carrynya mek in his arms (very feeling2 ala ala macam dalam citer 'Gone With The Wind' itiew) dan bawak mek gi hospital where my mom came and joined us (tu pun, ALSO cikgu Johari itiew yang called my mom). But see, the power of cikgus - waktu masuk operation theater pon, my mom stood kat belakang sikit as she takut darah and kept on saying "Sayang it's gonna be alright now... ", tapi it was Arwah yang datang held my hands and said everything's gonna be ok kat my ears (which reminds me, bukan ke doctors kena suntik patients kasik tidur before buat operations? KAN? HAIYOH! MEK PUNYE KES!!!!! Dia tak suntik pa per, terus jahit 8 jarum kat my knees sebelah kiri itiew! MAUNYE TAK BERGEGAR BAGAIKAN NAK RUNTUH HOSPITAL TU!!!! - namun lagik kuat ku jerit nangis, that's when lagi kuat Arwah genggam tangan mek... sambil 'shhh shhh shhh... ' kat telinga mek...- haiiii, feeling sat. Eh!) Wasn't that sweet or something?

Why do we have to ask such question? I think this is something which is very individual, no matter what your sexual orientation is. It’s like you have to know yourself before knowing someone else and above all, love yourself before you can love someone else.
I personally think that someone who has the following values or attributes should be proud of oneself.
- 1) Someone who strives to make a difference in others' lives (especially those less fortunate).
- 2) Someone who is always there for his friends - through thick and thin.
- 3) Someone who does good deeds without hoping for anything in return - just help for the simple and pure joy of helping.
- 4) Someone who is contented with what he/she has and understand the endless wheel of craving for love.
- 5) Someone who loves himself, his lover/spouse, his family, his friends, his community and his country.
