They say, Burj al-Arab was the dream of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, which turned out to be a physical reality years later in Dubai. The tower that resembles the sail of dhow, became the world's tallest hotel with the height of 321m in 1999, and the iconic tower of Dubai. The construction took 6 years (1994-1999).

The marketing technique of self-declaring the 7 star title has worked very well. Burj al-Arab became one of the most wanted destinations, and not only in the United Arab Emirates. To keep objectivity, the hotel is officially 5 star deluxe. The service and the unseen luxury definitely makes it stand out of the other 5 star hotels. The service includes private chauffeur with Rolls Royce or BMW 7, private reception desk every floor, helicopter pad (helicopter trips to the center of Dubai or to the Dubai International Airport), restaurant located 200m above the sea level, with amezing view on the city. The hotel offers free entry to the Wild-Wadi Water Park as well.

Celebrities appear daily at this hotel, Andre Agassi had a tennis game with Roger Federer on the helipad, and Ronan Keating made his video clip at the same place. Burj al-Arab stands on an artificial island which is linked to Jumeirah by a private bridge.

Burj al-Arab has the most luxurious interior imaginable. Khuan Chew, Design Principal of KCA International was responsible for the interior design. The most expensive materials were used throughout the building. There is no exact data about the cost of the hotel, but rumours say that the return of investment could be 100 years, although the nights at Burj al-Arab start at $1000. The Royal Suite costs $28000 per night.

There are 202 duplex suites in the hotel, the smallest suite starts at 169 m˛, and the largest is 780 m˛. Each suite has floor to the ceiling windows with spectacular views on the Persian Gulf. Every suite has sumptuous living and dining area, and office facilities. They are equipped with 42 inch Plasma screen TV, and everything is automated and can be controlled via remote. The list goes on, like 13 pillows to choose from and similar thoughtful care for the guests.

There is huge variety of brilliant, elegant restaurants that offer much more than the average. Al Mahara (The Oyster) let you enjoy your meal next to a large circle aquarium. The Skyview Bar leaves you with an unforgettable experience drinking coctails -made by Rikard Lindqvist (mixologist) from Sweden- 200 m above the sea-level. If that is not enough, there are 8 more restaurants to choose from.

Trick to get in for free:
There is an entry fee to the hotel if you just want to see it from the inside, which is about ~50 Euros. Although there is a trick that might help you get in without payment. Make a reservation on the phone for any restaurant in Burj al-Arab, you will get a reservation number which you have to show at the front gate. When you get inside to the hotel, just avoid the restaurant. Make sure you dont give your real phone number to them.

The Tower of the Arabs from an exact angle (sailing into the city of Dubai) can be viewed as a Christian symbol, the cross. It is still widely disputed, wether the British architects made it intentionally, or this is only a harmless coincidence. As United Arab Emirates is an Islamic country, such symbol would not make the locals happy, as Burj al-Arab is the iconic tower of their country, that represents their dream of the modern Dubai.

Burj al-Arab was the first hotel to self-declare the 7-star title, but soon another hotel appeared in the United Arab Emirates, the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. While Burj al-Arab lies on a small artificial island, Emirates Palace is surrounded by a spectacular garden with multiple swimming pools and amezing fountains. The hotel kept the traditional arabic architectural style.

A quick video tour in one of the suites of Burj al-Arab. All of the suites have two storeys, and all include such comfortable thing as the luggage room. There are kitchens in the suites as well, but they are rarely used. All the suites have amazing views either on Dubai or on the sea.

Apakah itu "Teloq 'dia' jatuh..."

APAKAH maksudnya si EBOK!? "DIA" tu, si Ebok kata kat sapa? Si waiter tu kah? Since dia yang menjawab "... dari kitchen..." tu, kan? Ka dia carut si Ultra ka, sambil si waiter tumpang carut sekaki? Hmmm...? AIYOH! APAKAH ITIEW "TELOQ 'DIA' JATUH" !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? *mek pengsan dah!

AT THE DEWAN RAKYAT 

BLOGGERS using locally hosted websites may be asked to register with the authorities, Deputy Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said. 

He said registration was one of the measures the Government was considering to prevent the spread of negative or malicious content on the Internet. 

Shaziman said this while winding up the debate on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address for his ministry. 

He added that the ministry did not have any problem with bloggers who identified themselves, and he welcomed blogging activities. 

However, he said there were about 50,000 websites registered under the .my suffix and there were a lot of avenues for anyone to host websites with malicious content which could harm the country’s security. 

Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang, who interjected when Shaziman was speaking, said the negative comments of several ministers about bloggers reflected their lack of understanding about information flow in cyberspace. 

“They should be educated on the vast benefits of blogging, which will help them to interact more with the people. Many politicians overseas already have their own blogs,” he added. 

Asked to comment on the matter, Johor Baru MP Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad said bloggers were very aware of their own ethics and responsibility for content on their sites. 

While agreeing that there were bloggers who had inflammatory content, he said unidentified bloggers could still be traced through their website addresses. 

He added that the problem was also about inflammatory comments by unidentified visitors to the blogs. 

Ahirudin Attan of Rocky's Bru said the move to compel local bloggers to register was effectively the Government trying to control what Malaysians were writing online.

“This violates the Government's no-censorship policy with regards to the Internet,” he said. 

He added that the move would just create fear among the bloggers and would encourage them to host their blogs overseas.  

Marina Mahathir, a blogger and activist, said the Government really should “get real.”  

She said the move “is just going to make Malaysia look ridiculous in the eyes of the world.”  

Blogger Jeff Ooi wondered why the Government was pursuing this course of action.  

He said the Government had already set up the Content Forum to deliberate on complaints by any party.

REVIEW: Kaer Azami - Album Menjelma


Adeh - it has been awhile since I last, last, laaaaaaaast buat entry REVIEW kan? Hikhik... well, tah kenape tah, tergerak rasenye hati nak buat entry review album pulak. (Mati la Middle East belum habis! LALALALA!)

Kali nih mrasa lah mek nak buat review pasal album Kaer Azami, lepasan AF, errm... was it AF1 or AF2 tatau? Mati la mek tatau fakta! Muahaha!


Adakah sebab dia candiew dan album covernya yang ala ala melerts nih yang membuatkan mek terus beli albumnya yang ori iniey? Hiks!

And actually, mek jarang yer, jarang sangat nak beli album ORI (mati la penggalak cetak romps! OPS!) tetiber kali nih, like, tadi, while shopping kat Giant, mrasa mek tergerak hati nih nak beli album si Kaer nih yang ori... (MYR29.90 ok! Bukan murs tau! Muahahahah!)


Mek rase depa overdid it lar with the Adobe, kan? Dari candiew, jadik a bit scary! Mati la Airbrush! HAHAHA!!!

Sebenarnye, erm, (mati la mek!) I have yet to dengar kesemua 9 lagu + 1 bonus track songs dalam album nih. Yang mek dosi dengar (dan dok la berulang kali dgr) ialah lagu track 2, IZINKU PERGI katanya...

The 1st time mek dgr lirik + lagu Izinku Pergi nih, mek macam, like, HELLO!? Siapakah? This couldn't be Hazami, ataupun Anuar Zain, ataupun Rem - siapakah?! Jenuh la jugak me tried looking/ asking around, siapakah penyanyi lagu yang sangat syahdu menikam kalbu sayu bagai nih. And thanks to Mami Zack Zali lah mek dapat tau, "Ohhhhhhh Kaer kaaaaa..." hehehehe...

Memula sebelum mek nengok Video Clip nya kan, mek macam, figuring out la jugak - apakah maksud makna disebalik lagu iniey kan... like, macam, I'm sure it has something to do with PERPISAHAN... hmmm... tapi lepas dah amati video clipnya tu kan, baru mek paham konsep/ jalan citer lagu nih...

Aiyoh - kalau tak betul gossip nih, mek mintak hampun, mek diam sajork. Tapi KALAU BETUL, aiyoh - Anuar Zain, two words - BIG MISTAKE. Erm, make that 3 words - BIG, HUGE MISTAKE! Or should I make that into 4 words? BIG, BIG, HUGE MISTAKE!!! (Kalau betul la kan. HEHEHEHE!) Sebab as far as am concerned, lagu nih baru kuar, terus BOOM! That's it! Juara Lagu kah!? Hehehehe...

I have yet to hear Kaer sing this song LIVE. Anyone ade url utk Youtube ke memana webbie ke, yang ado clip show LIVE lagu nih? Hmmmm...

Over all mek leh katakan - based on 1 lagu nih jer la kan, mek kasik 4 1/2 Stars out of 5 Stars (utk lagu nih jer la secara khususnya... secara AMnya for the album, biaq mek dgq habis dulu nah? Hiks!)

SEE! Told ya! Mek been extremely busy with work, social stuffs, meetings and itineraries, projects and all - sampai mek lupa about this!

1st April - which was yesterday la kan, was not yer, I repeat, was not, BUKAN skadar hari pekena orang i.e April Fools Day katanya yer. 1st April marks the date of my blog-anniversary yer. Dan 1st April 2007, marks the mercu kejayaan http://lealaurielle.blogdrive.com untuk tahun KEDUA yer. Yes u ols! 1st April 2007 - my blog's 2nd birthday!!!

1st April 2005 - 1st April 2007; with a total of 960++ entries so far la kan, with 344k ++ visitors since then and still counting!; with numerous kata-nama panggilans, carutans, awards (awards? Hahah thanks to Ginger's GOLDEN BLOG AWARDS tu leyyy!) and all; dengan layout tu kejaps then tukar layout nih kejaps - and up till the latest layout lah, then dgr tukar tu tukar nih mai tang bab chatbox tu - mek rasa, aiyoh! Sekejapnye dosi 2 tahun! Dan pelbagai ups and downs sepanjang mek berblogging - pelbagai aktiviti/ entries mek catatkan buat bacaan umum; banyak yang mek sharekan with public/ readers, tentang arah tujuan dan jalan serta cabaran kehidupan mek, the sadness, tears, joy and laughter bagai - haiyoh! Mek tak sangka! DOSI 2 tahun! AND mek totally TERLUPA about it semalam! Cimpeng! Patut la mek rasa - awat tahun nih April Fools day mek, mek rasa cam ada yang tak kena ja? Dok la mek pikiaq - last year April Fools Day mek buat apa la bagai - tak ter-recall pon. Until la tadi - tetiber jer, terus mek teringat! Hiks! Better late than never, kan? Hiks!

My many thanks to semua yang banyak membaca my blog; banyak bagi sokongan + galakan (motif I sounded as though mek menang award bagai? Taken, erm, last night, kan CA? Ah yes, semalam la, kat Bundle yang mek selalu dok pi tu ler, bundle yang sama 5thE naik gila naik hantu naik segala˛nya shopping tak hengat 2 3 weeks ago waktu dia datang A/S tu... Mek gi semalam dengan Rang, dan CA, saja lepaskan boring. Dan while sebok˛ dok mencari baju skirt sluar bagai kat bundle tu, mrasalah mek sempat snappy˛ paparazzi (sampai terpecah lobang gara˛ lupa off FLASH kat hp mek tu! HAHAHAHA!) jejants yang dok memilih baju˛ and all itiew also!

I was browsing through Viviana Lee Abdullah (motif suka tau nak tiru˛ nama hem! U ols alwwways tau! Hiks!) punye Myspace katanya... when I came across this interesting pic! (*Mati la sanggup call Viviana a.k.a Kiefancy nih, semata˛ mintak izin kebenaran permission bagai nak guna pic nih - mek tak sanggup dapat EMAIL dari Peguambela dan Peguamcara gara˛ salah laku/ salah guna pic orang yer - Mind you, not a formal legal LETTER yer - its EMAIL! Mati la kasik address but no phone number firma tu - e eh? Motif mek melencong? LALALALALA tempiasan sajork u ols! LALALA!)



Sangat menarik kan pic ini!? Like, banyak yang boleh dispekukan melalui pic iniey kat sinik, kan? (Speku˛ nih nanti, kena surat legal jugak ke? OPS! I mean, EMAIL that starts with "HI" - wops! Sorry! Did it again! LALALA!) Pic ini kalau tak silap mek, waktu si Viviana tu menang Miss Merdeka 2006 kat Orange Club katanya. Mrasalah u ols, agak˛ hapo lah yang sedang Miss Nurnilam Sari, 1st Runner-up yang dok sebelah kanan Viviana tu (dalam pic nih, dia dok belah kiri ler...) tu tgh dok tgk or even, CDH? (Carut Dalam Hati)...
