Miss Universe World Pageant 2005

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you, MISS UNIVERSE WORLD 2005


Just a sample pic... nothin' to do with any pageants or what not

Yes yes, it's one of those drag diva contests again. Funny it may sound to you, or rather ridiculous to some, but the contest itself is actually rather serious and as about the same as the real pageant thingie.

The real pageant has an introduction round whereby the contestants parades either in their traditional/ national costumes or just in casual wear; THAT we also have. The real pageant thingie has a round where all the contestants will parade in evening gowns of their own choices; THAT we have it here too, in this 'make believe ' pageant. The actual pageant does require the contestants to wear either one piece or two-piece swimwear, normally sponsored. NOW this one, SOMETIMES we have it here, MOST of the times we DON'T. Why? Ask the organizers and plus - most of the contestants don't feel comfy in it - understood lah, drags maaaa... ehehhe. Then the real thing has top 10*, q and a session, and then the results.
*Depending on the contest, some may even have top 15 to even top 20 before narrowing down to the final lineups of 5 maybe 6 contestants

The ONLY I say, only thing, that sets the real contest with THIS KL make believe contest - is that the contestants, well, lets just say, for THIS 'make believe' pageant thingie, are somewhat different than those competing in the real Miss Universe pageants or Miss World pageants - go figure :)

So anyways, tonight is the night when KL will have it's new make-believe:
- Miss Universe 2005 (Main prize/ title)
- Miss World 2005 (1st runner-up)
- Miss Earth 2005 (2nd runner-up)
- Miss International 2005 (3rd runner-up)
- Miss Continental 2005 (4th runner-up)
- Miss Globe 2005 (5th runner-up)

This entry reminds me of last years Miss Universe World, which I, apparently participated *one of my last few participations before I said farewell to the beautiful world of beauty queens*.

I remembered clearly I took part as Miss South Africa - boy that was a change as I normally would take up South Americana coutries especially Columbia and Mexico... Wanna hear my intro? Nothin' fancy - somethin' simple I guess, for a change...

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome down to Miss Universe World 2004. From a country that embodies unity through diversity, I'm Lauriellelai Kubeckka Kingston, South Africa!"

No no, this is not an entry about that contest last year... LOL no of course not. WHY? Sajeeee....ehehehe. No lah. Reasonnye cam nih.

Basically I didn't wanna compete. But since a good friend of mine insisted that me competed, and dia nak sponsor my evening dress, which dia berbelanja like, wooohoo! Banyak jugak, so - tannak menghampakan niat kawan, mek masuk also on last minute noticed. Picked up South Africa since itu jer country yang available, like - another 3 weeks before pageant itiew baru I decided to compete.

So the usuals, me shop for dresses and what not - not to mention my friend nih designed the Versace-look Evening wear, in shocking yellow and green colour - so last year's hottest colours around. Ehehe.

Preparations made, although ala kadar. As usual, bile dah dekat seminggu to the contest, persiapan ala kadar dah siap, and dari semangat biase biase aje terus berkobar2 nak compete, very DQ - the usual me. Mula2 feeling like "oh well, it's just another contests- win or lose, dinch kisah" but NOPE! Just before the contest, I started setting up high expectations... my fault, my mistake.

The night started late - planned at 8pm but eventually started at 10pm. I was starving like nobody's business. Owh wait, this started to sound like an entry about me competing in last years event. Tsk tsk tsk - ok ok CUT SHORT!

So I managed to get into the top 15 semifinalists and I was like one of the talked about contestant to be in the top 10, tapi, NAN ADO! Didn't get through into the final 10. Tsk tsk tks - as usual, me, went down the stage, CRIED like nobody's business. Walhal apa la sangat mek keluarkan for that contest? Regsitration fees, sponsored. Evening dress, sponsored. Casual sponsored... mek bayar make up and also bawak pasang badan jer for that night. I know I know I tak patut sentap tapi if you guys were there, ugrh!

BUT SERIOUSLY if you ask me now, to tell u guys in detail from A to Z about last years Miss Universe World 2004 - MEMANG I takkan citer, dah sebab MEMANG MEK TAK AMIK PORT lepas didn't make it into the final cut 10. Sentap! Tak concentrate dah pun. But ROUGHLY... nih la resultnye...

- BEST HAIR-DO: MISS SOUTH AFRICA Yes like hello? That was me alright! AND CORRECTO DE PURFECTO QUESTIONTO - WHY wasn't I listed in top 10?!?!?! Go figure!

And some other sub awards mek dah tak ingat. I was hoping for Best Evening dress though- tak expected best hair-do yang dengan menggayakan 3 lapis rambut wig itiew. Gambar? Nanti la mek selongkar - I tak banyak pics from that contest. Correct, sbb mek tak dapat top 6! Ehehe. NO LAH - reason being camera mek rosak. Guna camera kawan. Kawan pulak very clever - didn't snap pics sbb ASYIK tgk pageant. SENTAP DAK!? Ehehehehe

Final 6 were:

MISS CONTINENTAL: Miss Israel (4th runner-up)
MISS INTERNATIONAL: Miss Costa Rica (3rd runner-up)

Waktu diaorang annouced the results tu I think I was already up in my hotel room - yeap, so much for Miss Friendship - eheheh. SENTAP tak terhengga time itiew. No no, sentap waktu kalah dengan Miss G during Miss Universe 2003 tu lain - sentap sentap pon dapat 2nd runner-up to the title, so lain lah. Ini, muke mek! Tercampak keluar dari top 10? MALU ok! - konfenssion terus terang mek. Ekekeke

So tonight, I think by now, diaorang dah start kot contest itiew. Resultsnye, tunggu lah mek buat entry tomorrow. Nanti lah I nak do research and buat entry pasal which country yang dah banyak menang titles, nah? Ooooo this is gonna be fun! No - not the REAL contest thingie. Nih, this make believe pageants in KL nih la... ekeke Tgk negara mana selalu menang.. Ehehehe.

Good Morning Malaysia!!!

Dearest all...


My my, what another beautiful morning - great to be alive isn't it? Ehehe. So how was u ols punye Friday nightz'? Happenin'z ker? Back in KL I much prefer Friday nights compared to Saturday nights. Why? Sbb when you're out enjoying Friday nights, it's GREAT to know that you have another one more night to enjoy, which is Saturday night of course. Feelingz tu lain sikit - like, when you get back home lepas partyin' hoo haa here and there on Friday night tu, you akan feel like, "Ah... what a night... and there's TONIGHT *i.e Saturday night* to look forward too.." And also, kalau Friday night tu really s*cked big time!, at least, you ade Saturday night to enjoy. But if the other way round happened, like, you had a great, hell-la-va Friday night, tetiber you suffered Saturday night fever either you bebetul had a fever or Saturday night tu memang the night of all boring nights - well, too bad lah. I experienced that once or twice. Sentap. Macam, I had some great Friday nights, tetiber meh kat Saturday night the next day itiew, sedeeeeh! Those 'sentap'ed Saturdays telah mengajar me something though; Never Expect Anything; be it just about anything, even when it comes to happenin' days or nights... hehehehe

How was MY Friday night, last night? So so aje - busy giat MARA jer lah noqs... but I had a great sleep! Penat gamaknye. Muieueiueieu. Woke up dengan senyuman nih!!! at approx. 6.45am, solat subuh - aha! Pagi nih my mom yang terselayas bangun lewat; mujur ade mekkk nih, anak solehah, gi kejutkan dia. Eheheh - Mak Tok as usual lah never failed to bangun awal. So tadik, mek prepared breakfast for myself - mek buat that roti air panas *No- to some said roti air panas tu macam roti canai? Dinch! Why? Becoz... erm, becoz it's not lah! Eheheh* Then, by the time mek habis breakfast, my maid itiew baru masuk dapur nak prepare breakfast for Mak Tok ngan my mom, sbb dia baru habis buat laundry kots. So ala ala dia *the maid* sempat bertanye... "Mau sarapan?". Dengan ala ala slamber nih mek jawab... "Dah makan dahhh..." ala ala macam... Dinch perlu tanye ok! Mek dah kedaghah dah... Dah tau lagik mau purak2 tanya... tone thingie... ehehehe

So now, mek dah habis my morning chapter chapty... Pagi nih my pathetically cute cousin itiew nak tumpang mek lagik, dia ade nak jumpe sapa tah. Mek pulak ala ala nak gi keje ala ala giat MARA again - sah sah 1st Saturday sundel - office mek tutup but I STILL have to go, sbb ala ala ade bende yang mek nak kena siapkan. Mek decided dinch mau bawak pulang kerumahkiew kerja2 dioffice. Kalau bawak balik, it won't be officework dah, right? It'll be HOMEwork dah? Eheheeh - why, why!?!? I nak kena gi office when it's cuti, 1st Saturday of the month? *You're just lucky I guess" Ala ala sampuk my mom terjerit2 luar bilik mek tatkala mendengar mek menjerit separuh histeria pasal kena gi office pagi nih... hehehehe. Tak per. Mek gi cecepat, siap cecepat, leh balik cecepat - leh online lagik!!! Yaaayy! *Ceh - macam lah kat office mek tak online... mueieueiueieu*

Ok ok - time to get ready. Walaupun dinch perlu beroffice smart attire pagi nih, STILL - nak jugak kena mandi and what not. You can't expect me to go out from my house selekeh serabut serabai? Eeeeww dinch! Ehehehe... :)

End of day one - comes day two!

Dearest all, friends, strangers, everyone!

*Sigh+smile* Sukenye dah habis day one! Penat also but satisfied juger... Penat why? Yer lah. First day busy already with the invitations and promotions and what not. Serious. A lot of work. You think what, my invitation cards itiew tetiber jer muncul bak purnama merindu? U think my side board itiew semue tetiber jer muncul tanpa mek nak olah the sickening html coding? Haiyoh - penat ok. But after one full day nih, I managed to do these things... sukenye!

  • Memula I settled doin' the invitation cards - I did three but had to delete the last card, typo banyak sangat and me suddenly felt from energetic to pemalas in editing the card - so I deleted jer the last card itiew...

  • Lepas settled card, uploaded and posted as an entry kat blogdrive mek, I went and upload and buat entry kat blogspot and also kat my myspace blogs; NOT forgetting - fotopages mek! Muieueieuieue. Promosi besar besaran nih for my new blogdrive page and also about the upcoming Blogwarming ChatParty at my tagboard in my page! Ehehehe. Giat MARA betul!

  • Lepas itiew... let me see... what did I do next? Oh yes - I went and did the traditional 'blog-to-blog', ALA ALA like 'house-to-house' invitations thingie. I posted msgs at tagboards, chatted a bit, and then... terus to my next agenda...

  • Next! Me went and did promotions/msgs via YM and my MSN. Tapi sentap! The thing is with MSN, you are not able to send offline msgs. Tu yang boring. So, I msged sesiape yang online jer lah. Yang lenglain, terpaksa kutunggu sampai diaorang online nanti... Heheheh

  • And then... hmm.. oh yes, me promosikan kat my blogdrive ie kat my side board. Siap buat gallery kat facelink lagik, ok? Jgn jeles! Ehehe. Basically that facelink gallery is meant for my chatters yang kat tagboard I to submit pics2 diaorang. Senang nak buat rujukan to whom u're chatting with, that sort of thingie I guess.. :)

    And then basically today, ptg, me went swimming lagik *sempat lagik tu* and erm, OH YES! I got a number!!! From this cuteeeeee abang with geeereeeeeeeaaaatttttttt body! Haiyoh! Cair ok! Anyways, lepas evening swim dengan my friend si Kak Jue itiew, balik around 7nish, had dinner, solat Maghrib... then, back online. Did some final touchups on my page and then chatted a bit kat my tagboard with some sister-ibu2-budak friends, and then, terus lah, buat entry nih. Now dah pukul berape ek? Astaga! 1:14am! Dah dah! Tidur! ESOK KEJE! Eh - I mean, today!.... Ehehe

    Oh well - keep visiting my page folks. Promote la sekali, nah? Ehehehe.

    Blog Warming Party!!!

    Dearest all,
    You ols! Mek dapat this idea the very minute lepas sujud sahwi and subuh this morning. Tapi terpaksa ku simpan idea itiew sbb I was too sleepy afterwards. Tapi jgn tak tahu, before I head to bed balik lepas Subuh itiew, I sempat tulis in point forms ape yang mek nak kena buat when I wake up... hehehe... classic am I not!? Ehehehe

    So anyways, I've got like - 2 or 3 msg ala ala sounded like nak suruh mek do 'HOUSE' warming party after my move nih. Well - perli or no perli - mek took it serious. In fact, I've come up with an idea - VIRTUAL BLOG WARMING PARTY. Now how does THAT sound to you ols?

    I've got it all planned alread. I would be doin' invitations via blog entries here in blogdrive, blogspot and also myspace.com. Not forgetting I invitations via MSN and YM! Seriously, I'm getting into this virtual blog warming party thingie. Oh oh! And I almost forgot! I akan do visits to some of my friends' blogpage yang ade tagboard masing2 - I'll be leaving em msgs too there about the party.

    How does the party works? Well - ade lah. For now I can't tell. But what I can tell you ols is that I'm working on the invitation cards and programs thingie... hehehe. God I'm so excited!

    Oooooohhh I 'm soooo looking forward to this! Mainly becoz, it's gonna be somewhat different!

    Now this is what happens when you take house-warming VERY seriously - luckily mine is just a BLOGwarming party... NO FIRES please! LOL

    My first entry...

    Dearest all, fellow friends, blog readers, viewers... not to mention strangers too, welcome...

    Well well, my my, what do we have here? It's April 1st 2005 - Yes yes, like hello? Mek tahu lah it's APRIL FOOLS day but did u ols not know that it is also The Royal Albert Hall's 134th anniversary? And April 1st 2005 marks Siti Nurhaliza' 10th year in music industry? And to add to the list, April 1st also marks my new bloggin' address at blogdrive.com? Hehehehe - yeah, here I am, finally, at blogdrive.com.

    After some last minute doubts about the move, I finnaaally made a point to go for it. And so I did, or else, this entry wouldn't be published, correcto? Eheheeh. Well, there's nothing much to tell in my first entry here. Basically, it's not my first time bloggin' anyways - so, erm, as you can see, or maybe you can't see but lets just imagine you can, ok? LOL! - Anyways, I started doin' this bloggin' business thingie way back in November 2004, or was it end of October, hurm, whichever - I know I'm new if you wanna compare me to maybe some other people, but for me, I've blogged a lot I say. I started in myspace.com; they have this blog service thingie, in which I started off my first blog entry there. As time goes by, I became more and more aware of HTMLs. And so I erm, lets just, pepandai gi belajar sendiri la ek... buat kat blogspot - of course, with the help of some friends. Lepas tu, after dah bebetul confident with blogspot, I finally opened up my own blogspot page, somewhere last month - March, March 4th to be exact. And so I continued lah bloggin' siang malam pagi petang - bile ade new stuffs to write, I just write. Tak kire lah dah berape banyak entry dah for that day, kalau ade niat nak blog lagik, I continued jer. Maybe that's what sets my blogpage apart from the rest. I tak buat once or twice a day, or once in two or three days. And then, after noticing that blogdrive ade auto refreshed tagboard service included dalam the package, that made me decided to move in here... so basically, yeah you can say I joined in blogdrive semata2 tagboard tu jer.

    So this is it - my first entry here in Blogdrive.com; note- it's not my first bloggin' experience k? Eheheeh.

    I wonder if I should do what I did when I first joined in blogspot,... hmm... Do you guys know that I sanggup nih copy and pasted some of the entries from myspace.com/blog to blogspot, semata2 nak kasik nampak banyak dah entry? Pathetic kan? Eheheeh - but this time around, I THINK I may not be doin' that kot. As you can see, kat sebelah kiri page nih, kire macam the side board thingie, kan ade links to my entries kat blogspot, kan? Those links are to my personal favorite entries... pretty much explains who and what I truly am. So basically I tak yah lah nak redo cut copy paste whatever nonsense itiew lagi, kan?

    Actually - apa motif entry nih ek? Hmmm - I also in doubt now. Why I nak panjang2kan entry nih sedangkan I clearly understand that I don't have any new stories to tell? Maybe tomorrow ade la kot, kan? Hehehe - till then...
