Nurlea: Thank you for the question. I'd have to say that the statue has to be made of erm, anything solid and erm, of good quality, as to ensure that statue won't fall apart. But actually, erm, I don't really care what it is made of, so long as it's pretty, I'm happy about it! Hehe! One of the most common concerns people have when deciding to host a web site is figuring out how much bandwidth they'll need.

Get too little bandwidth and you might be hit with overage fees or have your web site shut off altogether. Get too much and you're paying for bandwidth that you don't really need. The following is a helpful guide for determining the amount of bandwidth that's right for your web site.

Every time someone views a web page or downloads a file, bandwidth - also known as data transfer - is used. How much is used depends on the size of the page or file that is being viewed or downloaded. Essentially, the amount of bandwidth that your web site will need depends on two key factors: (1) Web site content and file size (2) Web site traffic/popularity. Let's look at a few web site examples to get an idea of what their bandwidth requirements might be, and why.

Let's start with web sites that have high-bandwidth requirements. If you have a web site that has large-sized content and gets a huge amount of traffic, you're going to need a lot of bandwidth. An example of a web site that requires a lot of bandwidth would be http://www.compfused.com/ This web site is comprised of thousands of pages, and almost all of those pages are packed with images and video clips. Simply viewing the pages uses a lot of bandwidth, and of course downloading the video clips uses a TON of bandwidth. Combine this with the fact that this web site probably gets tens of thousands of visitors per day and you can see that its bandwidth requirements are quite extensive.

At the other end of the spectrum we have low-bandwidth web sites. A good example of a web site that requires a relatively low amount of bandwidth is my own site http://www.webhostingdiscounts.net/ Take a good look around this site and you'll notice that its layout is very simple - this simple design is intentional to ensure fast page loads. My web site has about 20 pages total, and most of those pages are pure text, and therefore have a very small file size. Even though I get a good amount of traffic to this web site, its bandwidth requirements are very low because all the files that are viewed are very small and require very little bandwidth to serve up. My web site can get thousands of visitors per day and not break a sweat.

Now that we've looked at examples of high and low-bandwidth web sites, it's probably a good time for me to mention that many web sites on the Internet fall into neither of these categories. Rather, your average web site is more of a medium-bandwidth web site, meaning that it is a cross between the high and low-bandwidth web sites that we discussed above. Pinpointing the optimal bandwidth for medium-bandwidth web sites can be difficult, but with proper planning you should be able to get pretty close.

The average web site contains a mix of text and images throughout its pages, and may or may not offer files for download. The average web site also gets average traffic, meaning anywhere from 50-500 visitors per day. Assuming these factors, a hosting plan with anywhere from 3-5 gigabytes (GB) of data transfer per month should suffice. For sites that get more than 500 visitors per day, or those that offer numerous large files for download, it may be wise to secure a hosting plan with 50 gigabytes of data transfer per month - or more. It is important to note that most web hosts quote your allotted bandwidth in "per month" terms, when in fact that number is actually broken down to a "per day" limit. For example: one web site of mine has 125GB of allotted bandwidth/data transfer per month. Sounds like a lot doesn't it? It is. However, in reality that equates to about 4.2GB of bandwidth per day. One day, several months ago, I made a large (12 megabyte) video available for download on this web site. It received over 400 downloads within the first two hours! That amounted to 4800 megabytes (MB) of data transfer, or 4.8 gigabytes. You guessed it, I exceeded my daily bandwidth allowance and my site was disabled for 24 hours. Lesson learned? Either order more bandwidth or adjust my web site content to fall within my bandwidth limitations. Not wanting to pony up the dough and purchase more bandwidth, I removed the video.

While we're on the topic of daily bandwidth limits, I'd also like to point out that if you're hosting with a free host - such as Yahoo! Geocities - prepare for bandwidth limitations of just 3-5 megabytes per day. This means that you won't be hosting any video clips or large downloads for long. I once had a web site hosted with Geocities that consisted of just one page - one single page. The page was filled with tons of sports car images both big and small. Once my site started to get 100 visitors per day, even that amount of traffic caused me to exceed my daily bandwidth limit. As a result, my site was shut down almost every day, for a period of several months, due to continually exceeding my daily bandwidth limit.

The point I am trying to make with this article is that with proper preparation and web site design, you can ensure that you always have enough bandwidth to go around. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1) When building a new web site, try to make the pages as small (file size) as possible. There are many free tools out there that will tell you the size of your pages and can also compress them to make them more compact.

2) When using images on your web site, try not to go crazy - keep the number of images to a minimum. If you must use tons of images, try a .jpeg or .gif compression tool to make the images as small as possible.

3) Make a concerted effort not to offer too many files for download. If for some reason you feel that you need to offer hundreds of downloadable files, try to select ones that are small (1-2 megs) in size.

By following the tips above, you'll be able to more accurately predict your bandwidth needs based on your web site content and estimated traffic. Obviously these tips are only general guidelines - the true test is launching your web site and carefully observing and monitoring your bandwidth usage patterns for several months. Inevitably you may need to alter your web site layout/content from time to time to stay within your monthly bandwidth limits. Better yet, if your site becomes so popular that you really do need more bandwidth, simply order more bandwidth from your existing web host or switch to a host that provides more generous monthly data transfer. As your web site grows in size and popularity, sufficient bandwidth will always be a concern, but, such is the price of success!

So anyways, diaorang nih tgh tunggu briefing to start, katanya nak gi flight. Tapi tunggu punya tunggu - nah, bad news katanya! Flight last minute cancelled. MOTIF!? CDG (3 letter aiport/ station code for Paris - Charles De Gaulle International Airport) cancelled? Gile ke ape? Tapi gile² pun, for these two, mrasalah terloncat bagai kere kena belacan katanya. Yer lah, dinch perlu gi for that 5 days trip flight kaedahnye, kan? Mrasalah boleh kepulangan ke rumah sajork dan standby di rumah.

"Ko dah call laki ko dah nyeh?" sebok jer la si Zizi tanyakan si Intan, as they were about to reach Subang Airport (katanya naik shuttle bus dari KLIA ke Subang Airport, kan...)

"Tak lah nyeh. Mek rase mek nak surprisekan dia. Bukannye selalu mek dapat flight cancelled cam ginik. Hehehe..." sukanye si Intan tu... sanggup nak balik naik van transport send off katanya dari call laki suruh mai amik kat Subang Hub tu. Kejist...

And so - she reached Subang Hub, took the send off van, and terus dihantar balik ke USJ, ke rumah dimana dia tinggal bersama 2 orang kawannye yang lain - Irman dia ajak duduk sekali jer, sesuke... (semua crew, except for Irman la kan... engineer katanya you... mrasa!). Sesampainya di rumah, si Intan senyap² jer masuk rumah. Serious dia nih, bukan main nak surprisekan laki dia yang tersayang katanya. Hehehe... suke punye suke, nahhhh si Intan yang alih² disurprisekan... katanya...

"APE NIH!?!?!?!?!" Intan jerit bagai nak gile nih, when she opened the door to her bedroom, and saw Irman sedang senang lenang sedap enak bermadu kancah kasih asmaradana dengan orang lain - and somemore, it's not another girl! It's actually, another guy, HOW!?

Sepanjang 2 tahun lebih kite kawan, we've went through ups and downs, tears and joy, gaduh and melawak bagai - semuanye la. And for that kan Yang, I feel that, I'm VERY honored to have you a friend and vice versa - I feel blessed to be a friend of yours. You've done so much for me - helped me through thick and thin - always have been there for me through my ups and downs in pageants and outside pageants, nowadays you're always there for me kalau ade pa per yang tak menjadi in my life, my blog and etc. Volks, I can NEVER say thank you for being there for me, and be part of my life. Prep di sini bukan skadar prep. pasai pakaian, dress, accessories and what not - also, mengenai kesihatan, diet, persiapan mintak cuti (for those yang bekerja la kan...), nak kumpul duit bagai, nak call itu ini semua - itu penting yer. And normally, rehearsals kan dua tiga hari sebelum the pageant itself, kan? So by that time, yang penting, u ols dosi siap the followings supaya tak der lah kelam kabut last² minute:

1. Bayaran entrance fee contestant dosi dibayar : YER! Jgn waktu rehearsals nanti organizer mai kat hang... "HOI! Mana entrance fee kau!? Ade hati datang rehearsals buat muka tempoyak basi, KAN!?" Nah - terus u ols leh menang Miss Paling Keji Di Malukan During Rehersals tau! Jgn gelak - ade ok! Ade yang ptg hari pertandingan, BARU NAK habis bayar duit entrance contest - HOW!?
2. Sudah siap dengan preparation pakaian, jurusolek, dandanan, kasut, wig, accessories bagai : It's good lah to siapkan bebende nih awal². Jgn last² minit... "Lady... u ade dak any accessories yang u tak kasik anak ayam u pakai malam ni? I lupa la nak bawak. Pinjamkan boleh?" NAH! Ini berlaku yer - October 2004 ok! Cam mana tu? Please lah - prepare lah bebetul². Am not asking you to go and prepare beribuan bagai ok. Tapi at least, get the basics ready lah kan gals. I mean, face it. Nak masuk contest, BUAT CARA NAK MASUK! Jgn ala²... "ALA, I MASUK FOR FUN JER. TU PUN KAWAN² SURUH MASUK..." Nope! As ex ratu yang dosi kertu katanya, MEK TAK LEH TERIMA ALASAN macam tu. Yer, nak masuk for fun tu boleh, kawan paksa masuk pun boleh - BUT THAT DOESN'T GIVE U THE RIGHT TO NAIK STAGE TERKONTANG KANTING INCOMPLETE! Mek pantang, dan benci tau org masuk miss buat endah tak endah jer. Kalau cam tu - TOK SAH MASUK! *motif mek DQ? Hehehehe... Dah pemilihan dress, tolong la buat bebetul. Kalau nak sewa pun, pepandai la pilih. Jgn pakai main paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakai jer ape² - ape org kata? TANGKAP MUAT? Hish - mek tak suka tau contestants cam tu. Pi la fitting, kalau yang sewa, pi la try it on first and tgk apa² yang patut. Kalau tak sesuai, amik jer yang lain. Kalau those yang nak buat dress, tolong la design bebetul. Jgn design tungging tebalik, nantik hang naik pentas pon tungging tebalik! Owh and erm, bab KASUT! Waktu pi beli kat Vincci tu, hehehe - TOLONG LA TRY! Jgn nanti, malam contest tu, kang SAKIT kang - sapa nak tanggung? HANG SENDIR LAH! Mrasalah u ols berdiri atas stage tu senget sebab kaki sakit katanya! HAHA...
3. A week before contest tu, get enough sleep/ rest : Ini penting gals! U don't want to get up on stage with eye bags everywhere here and there (Kat mana lagi eyebags kalau bukan bawah mata, kan? Gila la aku -"everywhere here and there" katanya! HAHAHA!). And yes, TIMUN is a good idea u ols. Memalam tu, tempekkan sajork. Bukannye susah. BUKANNYE ADE TAX pun kat timun tu - opps! Pemakanan also kena jaga. A close friend of mine pernah carut mek... a week before contest... "Nyah... ko nak diet² apenye seminggu nih nyah! Tak der maknenye ko nak kurus within a week..." - MEK TOTALLY DISAGREE. Kalau bebetul diet style, IKAT PERUT (mek tak advise ok but if u ols nak ikut, MEK TAK TANGGUNG PA PER EK!), a week pun ade bezanya tau. And kalau dok makan jugak within that one week tu, mek takut corset tak muat tau! Ataupun, corset terpaksa diterbalikkan - opps!!! Kalau rajin, exercise la sikit, buat yoga ke ape ke - it helps tau, eventhough dalam masa a week or two tau...
   
4. Prepare yourself mentally and physically : Physical nye mek dosi highlight tadik; now lets talk about MENTALLY. Mentally sinik, bukannye nak buat IQ test ke ape ke tu. Yer, memang ade Q&A. Tapi itu bukan maksud mek. Maksud mek kat sini - prepare mental tu ie. APE TUJUAN MASUK CONTEST? or WHATS MY INTROLINE? Practise u ols! Sebab mek tgk some adik² main² sangat during introduction. DO YOU KNOW YOUR INTRODUCTION LINE TU, carries out points? They (the judges) can see how prepared you are, how confident you are, and etc. So don't you dare for one minute to think of buat lawak² bodoh during introduction time tu. Meluat aku tgk - nak buat lawak bodoh, JOIN SARKAS! Not beauty pageants, ADA PAHAM? Selain daripada itu, yer, berbalik pada Q&A - kena la prepare siket. Jgn buta² jer naik pentas - then terpilih top 10, terus KEMPOT tak tau nak jawab. Org tanya sumbangan anda terhadap masyarakat, u go and jawab "I nak bukak kilang sabun" - how? Tu kes cuak. Cuak why? Sebab tak prepare mentally. Physically you can go all out - tapi kalau tak balancekan dengan mental prep u ols, POINTLESS la masuk contest...
5. AHA! Ini penting;  Start gettin' supporters! : Call all the ppl in your myspace, friendster, blog, phonebook dalam phone, email those dalam ur mailing list - do whatever it takes, to get these ppl datang and support you. WHY? Would you believe judges pun akan terikut dengan sorakkan audience. Diaorang tau audience nih kalau dah start sorak gile², then they know yang contestant nih hot favorite diaorang. Ramai yang tak percaya, sorakkan tu bawak effect penting. But to me, dgr kawan² roaring and cheering you up on stage, mek akan terus confident biarpun sebenarnye mek lack of it waktu tu. Sebab you know, they're there down there to support you, tu yang akan boost up ur spirit and confident level!

Semasa pegeant rehearsals

1. Yer - some contests, the organizers will buat rehearsals a day or two before contest tu. Dan yer, amik lah kesempatan nih utk berkenalan dan get to know other contestants - dinch kekwat! Untung² leh menang Miss Congen? KAN?
2. And waktu rehearsals tu, TOLONG la - TOLONG LA pay full concentration. Kang org suruh buat lain, malam kang buat lain! HAPO KES!? Tu kes memain la tu during rehearsals! U don't pikir² yang rehearsals tu dah macam the real thing. Real thing malam tu nanti, bratus org akan watch u, LAIN noq. So jgn la memain waktu rehearsals. Imagine lah it's the real thing - get the feel.
3. Please JGN all out pulak during rehearsals. Jgn catwalk over² - kang ade yang copyright kang! Jgn baca ur introduction line tu penuh², make it short jer - preferably cakap Nama and Negara jer... Lagi pun, rehearsals tu diaorang akan buat berulang kali. Habis tu, tak ke muak ko dok cakap bende yang sama sajork over and over again. Lama² contestants lain pun leh ingat hang nye intro line, ape kes? Hiks!
4. Kalau boleh - bring your heels and put 'em on and walk with those heels during rehearsals. It's good tau, especially for new heels. Get the feel. Owh and plus, before pakai tu, (FOR BRAND NEW HEELS ONLY YER!), gigit² sikit kasut tu; ini my mak ayam said to me before and terbukti. Normally, after belik heels baru, I will always gigit²kan tapak yang kat depan tu sikit jer, so that the heels won't gigit ur feet back nanti. And selalunye, tak der pa per pon jadik. LAST WEEK when I was in KL, kan mek belik heels Vincci baru - and I forgot to gigit heels tu - NAH! SAKIT SIUT! Walhal bukannye mek tak penah pakai heels pun. Bende nih pun banyak kali jadik kat kawan² mek. Bukannye mek nak suruh hampa percaya sangat², tapi its like, petua pageants kot. Noq, u're gonna be in those heels, 3 to 4 inches high, for more than 3 hours malam tu. Jgn buat kaki ko sakit noq. Gigit jer kasut tu sebelum pakai for the first time, bukannye nak rosakkan pun heels tu (and gigitting the heels won't make your gigi jongang lah!) Hehehe... it's just one of those believes la kot - nak ikut, ikut la. Tannak, sudah... NEXT

Selepeas pageant rehearsals, before pageant night

1. Since semua dosi siapan, maka - tak der lah banyak sangat nak kena buat. Maybe some last minute shopping ke ape ke, nak beli pantyhose ke ape ke, panties ke padding ke ape ke, glittering spray ke ape - buat la time² tu. Cuma one advise, JGN KELAM KABUT! Kang satu haprak pun tak jadi tau!
2. Relax, jangan pikir bukan² - tenangkan otak, remember ur steps like in the rehearsals, ingatkan ur introduction lines, and etc. Jgn semakkan otak. Ha, that's why I said it's good to prepare everything awal² so waktu nih, you get to really relax while your make up artists tgk transform u ols tu. Jgn jadik macam last minute semua baru nak prepare - isk, susah noq susah!
3. Grab something to bite - jgn jadi cam mek. Tak makan langsung pa per. Susah - kang waktu contest, ha, mula la perut nak meragam - lapaq la, itu ini. Senak la, memacam. You don't want that to happen to you ok. I've been there done that dan kena ketuk dengan Eva brapa kali dah pasal kes tak makan nih. So jgn biarkan mak hayam u ols pulak ketuk kepala u ols!
4. Drink plenty of water - it'll keep u fresh and u ols won't get dehydrated.
5. Remember one thing - whatever happens that night, semuanya just for fun... :)

And always remember one more thing - ini mek selalu cakap kat kawan² mek, anak ayam mek, and others yang mek rasa mek nak advise...
