When everything is just "SPEKULASI"...


"Mak speku lah kebenaran dalam cerita dia tu - mak rasa bukan cam tu the story should have been..."

"I believe that he's just making it all up to make it look fancy, don't you think?"

"Ape buktinye Nyeh? No pics just words? Ceh - I doubt la..."

"Isn't it obvious everything that she ever said was just fictional? Tah la u ols. Mek speku sajor..."

SPEKU SPEKU SPEKU - everything is just speculation, right? Lets see - what is SPEKU @ Speculation? Speculation is just merely assumining things - assuming when u're in doubt of something. Yeap, it's that simple. So, yeah, what harm can a simple speculation do to someone? Follow up this entry and you'll find out the answer.

Often speculations are made when certain people have doubts over something, or simply put, speculations are there when certain party or individuals either have doubts over things that they've talked about, or discussed, or blogged? Or they feel uneasy with certain subjects or perhaps, speculations arises when they disagree about something. For "A" to say "B" is just making stories up or maybe "A" disagree or in doubt about something discussed by "B" is probably too much and not right. So instead, why not do speculations - at least that will make others think over the speculated subject ie the subject made by "B". So what harm can speculations do to "B"?

  • 1. "B" gets hurt.
  • 2. "B" feels that "A" doesn't trust him/ her.
  • 3. "B" could be losing his/ her self confidence.
  • 4. "B" may be embarraced with the fact that "A" has been speculating about things he/ she have said and thanks to "A", it's all over town by now?
  • 5. Why do I have this feeling 4 harms are just about enough for now?

I think that Speculating is just like Questioning, right? Questioning or, hm... what's that word again? Ah yes, in doubts. And when you're in doubt, the word TRUST can't be used, right? For if you trust someone, you wouldn't be questioning things and wouldn't be throwing speculations, correct?

What are the things that we SPEKU a lot everyday - a lot! But in this entry, lets take a look at one fine example which apparently happened to me. No, not me speculating - it's me who has been speculated; in other words, I'm that "B" - the one that people don't trust or have doubts in.

-Speculating about the truth of my blog ie. my entries-

The blog heading clearly states; "Stories of my life; I write, you read... and that's the way it is! Face it!..." - did I see anything about "STORIES OF MY LIFE, I WRITE AND U SPECULATE?" No, I don't think so. Over and over again I think that MOST of my entries in my blog are based purely on my experiences in life; doesn't matter whether it's about my PAST TENSE drag life, or my work and social life, or any current events or happenings. Most of it (NOTE: I didn't say all, MOST of it) are writen only because I've experienced it - regardless whether its with pictures or 'non-ado-pictures' in it.

Writing has been like a new passion for me. It has filled up my empty life and I found it (I STILL do) very interesting, to spend some 2 3 hours in front of the pc and start typing stuffs ie. blogging. But all that hard typing goes into the trash (eventhough it has been published) when people speculate what I write. Most of the time, THE REASON why they speculate is simply because...

"Owh look - it's that 100% words-only entry. No pictures to prove that the story is true. So I doubt its true - well, it's just another speculations..."

JUST another speculations? Do you not see that 4 HARMS that I could be going through from your "JUST ANOTHER SPECULATIONS?" I feel I've wasted my time and efford trying to SHARE things with people. It's true like the Malay saying... "KERANA NILA SETITIK ROSAK SUSU SEBELANGA" - One speculation, over 100s of support, could end up in the drain too you know. I've lost that PASSION for writing these few days lately. Why? Need I say more about it?

What I do not understand is this - a blog entry, with photos, shows that it's true. An entry based on experience, WITHOUT photo, means nothing and just another fictional story. WHY? Isn't it possible to write something and simply cut and paste some photos found on the internet and include it in the entry just to prove its true? It IS possible - well, I'm just SPECULATING, am I not?

Lately I see there like tons and tons of people speculating around me. (no, am not JUST talking about speculations about my blog now; this one I meant as general). And the worse part is, those 'people' who speculates around us, would be the ones whom we call, FRIENDS. I'm sorry, which part of the FRIENDSHIP rules that states "A FRIEND NEEDS TO SPECULATE?". I've missed out that point, can someone refresh my brains? And COMING BACK to speculations about my blog entries - those speculations made actually came from people I call FRIENDS. Isn't that EXCITING?

"Ala nyah - orang gurau speku jer la... tu pun nak makan hati..."

"Ala adik² cam tu la kan - nak emo..."

"Nyeh, kami nih kawan. Tak per la nak speculate. Lain la orang kita tak kenal nak speculate, confirm mak sentap nyah. Tapi dengan kawan², apa la sangat?"

WRONG! It hurts even more having FRIENDS speculating things, compared to speculations coming from strangers. For me, speculations coming out from strangers means nothing much if compared to FRIENDS. I don't know who those strangers are - and for that matter, I don't think I should be giving serious thoughts about what the speculations are (although most of the time being me, I still DO CARE for strangers comments or speculations). It's not my concern (which proves why nowadays the number of LALAT CHATTERS, LALAT BLOGGERS and LALAT COMMENTS are increasing drastically. WHY? Lalat would says "WELL, kalau aku comment or chat using my nickname, MY FRIENDS will surely kenal. Baik aku jadik LALAT. THAT WAY MY FRIEND will not know I spekukan entry dia or chat di tagboard dia... so I will be safe from dicarutkan...")

Anyways, my concern is that sometimes, speculations come from your own FRIEND which apparently makes me sad. It hurts. It's like your friend is questioning about the truthfulness of your entry, or better still, in doubt of your entries - simply because it's too DRAMA, or it's soo FAIRY TALE sound/ look alike, or the best reason, NO PICS maaa... so mesti dia speku, KAN? I don't know *Sigh*. Sometimes I don't know why people love to speculate when they know that speculations can cause PROBLEMS and MISS UNDERSTANDINGS instead of bringing FUN.

My blog is basically like my life - I wonder, to those yang love to speculate - do you guys know that you could hurt someone's feeling when you speculate about that someone's life? Ok - you might say...

"Ala, speculate about blog entry, perlu ke sentap?"

True. Takkan nak sentap over a small speculations? But what if you over do it? Don't you care about other people's feeling? Sure, all you care for is that "SPECULATING IS FUN, DON'T YOU THINK? IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN SEX - WE GET TO LAUGH!" - NOPE... it's not for me. I mean, speculating a lil'bit is probably acceptable, but too much? Think about it.

And what's worse, when you speculate about me or my blog, which SOMETIMES apparently RELATES to someone else - hey, you're hitting two birds with one stone. Congratulations. Speculating about the blog entries is one thing. But speculating about one's personal affair or life, which apparently involves another person (obviously), means that you're hurting not one but two person at the same time - something to be proud of aih? Speculations; if its true, so be it. But what if what you speculate isn't true?

What is this? Another one of those "from the bottom of my broken toilet bowl" entries again? You can say that again. I wonder whether if LL is seriously hurt, or she's just playing her role as the DRAMA QUEEN OF THE YEAR again?... Hmmm... put on your thinking caps, but don't use ur brain, just put on that cap  - and lets SPEKU!

gal..you're very der sensitive one. How old are you now? 30 somethin' right? you have to look at certain thing in positive way like when peeps speculate/criticized you about certain thing i.e. your blog/life and if you think that is good for you just embrace it but if not just ignored it. In addition, somethin that you have to know gal, you're very famous among other bloggers and you're such a talented person in writing. so peeps will always looked at you and sometimes speculate about your blog/life (may be). To me you're like an artist. frankly speaking I do love your writing style very much and I really admired when you used your writing capability in defending yourself. take care of yourself gal.
