ONCE UPON A TIME, I WAS THAT SHOWGIRL - Episode 1: A slow beginning- a VERY SLOW beginning.


The year was 2000; Kuala Lumpur.

I baru jer finished my studies in Accountancy and Finance in November 1999. And then, a month later, instead of mek join company KPMG yang kat Jalan Dungun, Damansara tu (which my dad yang tolong cakapkan kat one of his friends, who so happened to be one of the bigshots kat KPMG itiew to employ me as an junior accountant), I went and jadi 'trolley dolly'; joined Malaysia Airlines, as a flight crew. So apparently it that was the time yang I started living on my own; although my parents lived not far from me lar kan, but still - I had my own life. I was happy, I was free - I finished my studies, dah lepas dari segala amanah dan amanat keluarga katanye... hehehe - I dah out into the world, living my life the way I wanted and tried to make a difference in my life. As we can see, from perenggan pertama nih lagi dah, mek dah mula decided what I wanted for my life, whats good and whats bad for me and my life (until it became a pathetic one... oopps! Ehehehe)

Imagine I said no to workin' to a place like this - KPMG (pic above) and went to work with a company which allowed me to have a mobile up in the air office- super dooper coolies! LOL!!!

Tapi kan, mek macam, however, very der a bit naive kot. Of course being an adik2 myself since highschool sampai mek habis study; some call it sissyboys, others might call these type of boys as jambu - whatever it is that you wanna call it, waktu itiew mek memang sudah tahu everything that I needed to know about at that time; like, erm, blowjobs? Sex? Men? Feeling cinta? Berangan? Expose? Semua ala ala mek dah tahu - though tak banyak yang mek tahu, still, I tahu la jugak. Cuma maybe mek kureng ade kawan2 nak go out with, and lepak2, and expose2 lagi. So jadi la me adik2 domestic dulu! Ehehehe. Very der domestic I say. Besides, I memang sebok pun dengan my flight crew trainings kat Malaysia Airlines Academy for three months, before jadi online crew; so, go figure. Mana lagi nak study and concentrate on becoming the next pramugari terlampau (ooppsss), mana lagi me nak enjoy hoo haaa boo! But I think that the only time for me nak really enjoy, hilangkan tensi mensi di training academy tu, go out and happening sikit, was during the weekends jer la kot - Namun, waktu tu, happening dengan kengkawan crew jer lah as I hardly had any other friends - ade tu ade, tapi tak ramai. Kiteorang gi mana? Gi clubbing lah, gi lepak2 here and there lah, movies lah - ade jer aktiviti yang akan mek akan buat during my spare times during the weekends. Clubbings pun waktu tu, mana la sangat dia pandai nak pergi to gay clubs and what not. Kalau pergi pun, nak kena cari geng. Mana ade geng lagi waktu tu. So dengan crew2 stewards stewardesses nih, kalau pergi club straight dengan diaorang pon (normally HRC and Planet), I remembered me tetap dengan gaya adik2 yang sangat blur - like, very der lah culture shock giituu. Ehehehe.


And at the same time, mek slowly mengorak langkah (aisey, can say mengorak langkah mehhh? Ehehehe) buat kengkawan on the net - yes, mIRC was so like the talk of the town time2 awal 2000 dulu, kan? It was amazing to see, it was easier to make friends over the net (gays and drags especially) kalau nak dibezakan dengan go out and make out new friends face to face. Confirm segan. Where as kalau dalam net - they tend to chat first, kenal lelama sikit, baru they go out and meet. So apparently, dengan nickname mek yang very der berjela panjangnya dan very der tak membawa apa apa artinya itiew, mek managed to make a lot of new net friends, yang soon later lepa2 tu, - mek jumpe, kenal2an and that's when me learned more about being gay in Kuala Lumpur. I mean, being an exposed gay in Kuala Lumpur.

I remembered since 1998 lagi kot, time2 tu I was still studying lagi, me dah started to use the nick |Lady^L`OreaL^The^Great| dalam mIRC tu. Feeling kan? Hahaha - History behind the use of this nickname.

I think it all started sebab I ade guna the product L`OreaL kot dulu. I nih dah start guna all these L`OreaL face treatment products since, what, since I was 15? I walaupun bukannye drag ke ape ke (at that time lah kan) - tah lah; mek memang suka jaga muka. So that explains the 'L`OreaL' part in my nickname yang selalu ada dlm channels Gaymalaysia, Sayangabang most of the time...

But what about 'Lady' and also 'The Great' tu pulak? Mai tang mana pulak dah? Kalau ade orang tanya mek - why the nick? Mek akan jawab...

"The word Lady refers to me being lembut, adik2, sissyboy... get it? Sebab, if you tgk the channels that am in right now, it's all gay channels and kalau I letak the nick LADY, other chatters would soon understand that yang guna nickname nih ade lah bukan jantan straight acting pon- Sah sah lembut - sebab tu guna LADY... kan?"

Logical explaination - but what about that 'The Great' thingie...

"I remembered Catherine Zeta Jones, who so happens to be my favo mavo actress, acted in this one movie and in one of her lines, she went and said something like... 'bla bla bla... I'm... bla bla bla THE GREAT' - macam, very DER lah! Suke it so much, very der mek suke THE GREAT tu, macam very grand gittu, and then terus guna that as part of my nickname dalam irc lor..."

So in the year 2000 - the nick |Lady^L`OreaL^The^Great| memang selalu org see dlm Undernet and Dalnet and lepas2 tu sikit, kat Webnet server of the mIRC. Actually the nick dah been around since 1998 tapi kurang expose as mek memang tgh study lagi time tu dan tak tahu ape2. Cuma when I dah habis studies, dah live my own life, that's when the nickname mula diexpose2kan. Like, everyone kenal the nick but still, tak pernah nak nampak in person siape itew Lady LoreaL The Great itiew. Eheheh - I remembered I first ever website, 'lady.loreal.kaypo.net'... Tah ape jadi dah kat site tu pun tak tahu lah. Tapi I buat and maintained that website, tahun 1999 kot, with one of my 'plu-gay-in-real but claims to be straight' friend, for only like, what, three months? Tapi you guys wanna know something, I think that three months tu, sudah cukup for me nak exposekan diri as Lady L`OreaL The Great, a sissyboy yang dinch tahu drag tu apa lagi. Well - maybe I do know what drag means tapi I remembered clearly this statement... "Mintak simpanglaaaa aku nak drag. Cukup lah lite2 cam nih jer. Macam lah tak laku sangat kalau tak drag? Laku jugak ok!!" Ehehe... tapi last last ado lite2 cam tu dah? NAN ADO! Eheheeh...

Chatting was mainly my daily 'must-do', biar pun sekejap sejam dua. Mek mesti nak online. That's the only thing yang mek rajin buat pun bile mek ade kelapangan for the first half of the year 2000. Selain daripada itiew, I rajin jugak pusing2 KL, tgk2 keadaan Bukit Bintang yang at that point, tak der lah semeriah or sehappening like it is now, kan? But still- I dah berani look around alone, kat area itiew. But not all the time as the word 'takut' kept on bugging me, sebab tak kenal sape2 sangat kat area tu. By mid 2000 - Me yang dah overly established dalam MAS, been flying all over Malaysia, doing domestic flights, and with a whole lot of new friends, mek makin berani nak be all out. Ever heard of semi-drags before? LOL! I could just laugh seeing myself as a semidrag queen! LOL!!!

The year 2000 wasn't so much of an interesting year - pretty slow, for the first half. But coming into second half of the year - especially after I celebrated my 21st birthday in June 2000, that's when semuanye berubah; dari slow, ke moderate and soon, way to fast lane nih!! Wanna find out what happened dalam second half of the year 2000? - Tunggu...

Adoii susahnya aku nak baca citer ni...Masalahnya bukan aper...ayat tu mix omputeh aa...jadi kepala otak aku time nak baca tu kena tonggeng terbalik..adoii.. Aku rasa aku kena makan burger letak belacan lah baru pala otak aku leh berfungsi kedua duanya dengan lebih baik...
