Another great loss for Malaysia...


Dearest all,

Today I was like, completely shocked, when my mom told me that Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, wife kepada our Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, passed away. I was like like, "HELLO!?"

Biar betul? I tot Pak Lah said to the reporters semalam when asked about his wife's condition, dia jawab...

"Dia ok tapi tak berape sihat/ pulih lagi. Nanti dah sihat, boleh bawak balik rumah. Now in hospital still, sakit masih, macam mana nak bawak balik?" - SOMETHING like that la kirenya, with a very relaxed voice (jgn ade orang nak speku mek ubahsuai ayatnya sebab mek pun ingat˛ lupe dah reply Pak Lah kepada reporter tu tapi it was sommmmmmmmething like that kan).

Roses are beautiful - but they can never be as beautiful as the late Datin Seri Endon Mahmood...


Tak disangka tak diduga tak kita menyangka, today, Thursday October 20th 2005, kita telah kehilangan seorang lagi tokoh wanita Malaysia yang disegani; most importantly, our country's leading man, Dato' Seri Haji Abdullah Ahmad Badawi - telah kehilangan penyokong/ peminat number 1nya (as reported dalam The Star Online di http://thestar.com.my)

PM's wife dies after bout with breast cancer

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) - Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's wife, whom he described as his No. 1 supporter, died Thursday after a nearly four-year battle with breast cancer. She was 64.

Members of the public can pay their last respects at Seri Perdana between 11am and 4pm.

Her remains will be buried at the Precinct 20 Muslim cemetery at 4pm after Asar prayers at the Putrajaya Mosque.

Endon Mahmood's death - which comes less than two months after she and Abdullah marked their 40th wedding anniversary - is the biggest personal blow to the Malaysian leader since he took office in October 2003 following the retirement of his predecessor, longtime leader Mahathir Mohamad.

Endon, who recently underwent months of intensive chemotherapy in Los Angeles, passed away at the family's official residence Thursday morning in Putrajaya, Malaysia's administrative capital, after being released from a Malaysian hospital Monday, said Abdullah's spokeswoman, Esuriyanti Ahmad.

"The family members were at her side, everybody was there,'' Esuriyanti said, adding that Endon would be buried in a traditional Muslim funeral later Thursday.

Abdullah, Malaysia's fifth prime minister since the country achieved independence from Britain in 1957, had been married to Endon since Sept. 4, 1965. They have a son, a daughter and four grandchildren.

Abdullah has often publicly called Endon his "No. 1 supporter.'' When his mother died of natural causes in February 2004, Abdullah telephoned Endon in the United States, where she was undergoing treatment. She later told reporters that he said: "I've lost my mother and I don't want to lose you too.''

Endon discovered she had breast cancer in 2002 following a checkup after her twin sister, Noraini, was earlier diagnosed with the disease. Noraini died in January 2004.

Lea, a very touching tribute to her..although I don't know her at all... but she seems like a nice lady. Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat di bulan yang penuh keberkatan ini!

That remind me to remind everyone to selalulah check breast or dada sendiri (even to guys) tengok tengok kalau ada lumps ke hapa ke... betetr be safe then sorry!
