"Are we proud of who we are?"

Why do we have to ask such question? I think this is something which is very individual, no matter what your sexual orientation is. It’s like you have to know yourself before knowing someone else and above all, love yourself before you can love someone else.

I personally think that someone who has the following values or attributes should be proud of oneself.
  • 1) Someone who strives to make a difference in others' lives (especially those less fortunate).
  • 2) Someone who is always there for his friends - through thick and thin.
  • 3) Someone who does good deeds without hoping for anything in return - just help for the simple and pure joy of helping.
  • 4) Someone who is contented with what he/she has and understand the endless wheel of craving for love.
  • 5) Someone who loves himself, his lover/spouse, his family, his friends, his community and his country.
...and being proud of yourself doesn’t necessarily come all from worldly achievements but from inner discovery and spiritual enlightenment as well.
